Two People in Their 40s Die Consecutively While Swimming in Hadong Rivers and Valleys
Two vacationers enjoying water activities in the valleys and rivers of Hadong, South Gyeongsang Province, drowned in separate incidents.
According to the Hadong Police Station on the 5th, a man in his 40s, identified as Mr. A, was found unconscious under a bridge in a river in Hwagae-myeon, Hadong-gun, at around 2:25 p.m. on the 2nd.
Mr. A, who was found unconscious by a nearby vacationer, was transported to a nearby hospital by emergency responders but ultimately passed away.
On the following day, the 3rd, at around 4:31 p.m., another man in his 40s, identified as Mr. B, was found unconscious while swimming in a valley in Yonggang-ri, Hwagae-myeon.
Mr. B was rescued by a vacationer and transported to a hospital via emergency services, but he did not regain consciousness.
It was found that both individuals had come to Hadong with their families for vacation when the accidents occurred.
Police and fire department officials stated, "Rivers and valleys can have sudden changes in water depth, so extra caution is needed," and advised, "Please wear safety equipment such as life jackets and do not separate from your group while enjoying water activities."
