On the 2nd, Cheongdo-gun stated that from August 1, the childbirth support fund has been set at 21.4 million KRW, an average increase of 33.5%. According to the revised ordinance, families will receive 5.6 million KRW for the first child, 14.8 million KRW for the second child, and 21.4 million KRW for the third child or more. Previously, the amounts were 3.7 million KRW, 13.4 million KRW, and 15.4 million KRW respectively.

The incentive is partially paid as a lump sum immediately after birth and then received sequentially over 36 months in monthly payments. For the first child, the lump sum is 2 million KRW with a monthly incentive of 100,000 KRW; for the second child, the lump sum is 4 million KRW with a monthly incentive of 300,000 KRW; and for the third child, the lump sum is 7 million KRW with a monthly incentive of 400,000 KRW.

Eligible applicants must meet the following conditions: either the mother or the father of the child must have had their resident registration in Cheongdo-gun for at least 12 months prior to the child's birth date and up to the time of application; either the mother or the father must reside in Cheongdo-gun; and the birth must be registered in Cheongdo-gun. In the case of relocation, if the child under 36 months old as of the moving-in date and the mother or father have resident registration and reside in the county at the time of application, they can receive the incentive.

Applications can be made by visiting the local town or township office with an ID card. To receive the support fund, applications must be submitted within 90 days from the date of birth or relocation registration.

Cheongdo-gun stated, "The ordinance was revised to reduce the economic burden on families with newborns and to foster a healthy childbirth culture." Starting from the previous day, Cheongdo-gun will also produce and provide a 'Birth Celebration Plaque' for newborns in the area. Kim Hasu, the mayor of Cheongdo-gun, said, "There is a saying that it takes a whole village to raise a child," adding, "We will make Cheongdo-gun a great place to raise children."
