Operating 1-Night 2-Day Family Camping Program at Gwanaksan Until September... 10,000 KRW per Team
Reservations Available for 15 Teams on a First-Come, First-Served Basis Twice Weekly (Fri-Sat, Sat-Sun)
Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Jun-hee) will operate a 1-night 2-day forest experience program at the Gwanaksan Valley Camping Forest this year as well, where the whole family can enjoy together.
The "Gwanaksan Valley Camping Forest (around 205-1 Sillim-dong, Gwanak-gu)" is located a 10-minute walk from Gwanaksan Station on the Sillim Line. Inside the camping forest, there are children's play facilities such as a water playground and adventure forest, as well as convenience facilities including public restrooms.
It is very popular among residents as it offers an opportunity to escape the city and daily life and fully enjoy the natural surroundings of Gwanaksan’s clear water and green forest.
The Gwanaksan Valley Camping Forest offers not only simple camping but also various forest education and recreation programs over the course of 1 night and 2 days. This year’s camping forest program themes include ▲biodiversity and observation of endangered species ▲welcoming the moon and stars at Gwanaksan ▲walking and sun rope play, with various programs such as monthly night forest walks, rope play, and family cup making prepared.
The program runs twice a week (1st session Friday to Saturday, 2nd session Saturday to Sunday) from 3 PM to 11 AM the next day, lasting 1 night and 2 days.
Families with children born between 2014 and 2018 can apply. Up to 15 families are recruited per session, with 4 to 5 people allowed per team.
The fee is 10,000 KRW per team, which includes one 5-person tent and one mat. Dinner and breakfast are not provided, so participating families must prepare their own meals. Cooking and use of fire are not allowed. Participants must also prepare necessary items such as sleeping bags, personal hygiene products, and insect repellents on their own.
Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis through the Seoul Public Service Reservation website.
District Mayor Park Jun-hee said, “I hope everyone enjoys the various forest experience programs along with the natural environment of Gwanaksan Valley and creates special memories with refreshing summer camping,” adding, “We will continue to prepare various programs for healing in the city.”
