Drug Manufacturing, Smuggling, and Sales Arrests Increase by 30.4%

According to the police, the number of supply offenders involved in manufacturing, smuggling, and selling drugs in the first half of this year was 2,725, an increase of 30.4% compared to the previous year. The police have been focusing their crackdown activities on arresting supply offenders involved in manufacturing and smuggling to block drug distribution networks.
The police will also concentrate investigative efforts on ▲internet drugs ▲club drugs ▲medical drugs. Internet drug offenders will be actively countered through specialized investigation teams for the dark web and virtual assets, addressing increasingly sophisticated methods. For club drugs, intelligence gathering will be strengthened, joint inspections with local governments will be conducted, and local police, mobile patrol units, criminal mobile squads, and drug investigation teams will be fully mobilized. Regarding medical drugs, intelligence gathering on hospitals and clinics issuing false or excessive prescriptions will be intensified, and joint inspections with the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety will be carried out.
