On the 30th, LS E-Link announced that it signed the 'MOU for the Expansion of Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure' at the Seosomun 1 Government Building in Jung-gu, Seoul. The signing ceremony was attended by Yeo Jang-kwon, Head of Seoul's Climate and Environment Headquarters; Kim Dae-geun, CEO of LS E-Link; Jung Gyu-won, Executive Director of Hyundai Motor Company and Kia; Woo Jong-jin, Executive Director of LG Electronics; and Ryu Jeong-hoon, CEO of Doosan Robotics.
The companies and the Seoul Metropolitan Government agreed on the need to supply electric vehicle chargers tailored to demand, such as rapid chargers and chargers designed to assist vulnerable transportation users, leading to the signing of the agreement. Seoul will be responsible for identifying sites for charger installation and providing other administrative support. The companies will cooperate with Seoul in the operation and maintenance of chargers and charging stations.
LS E-Link will supply smart chargers in locations with spatial and temporal constraints, such as bus garages. The chargers operate by lowering charging guns from the ceiling to charge vehicles sequentially. A pilot installation of chargers for Seoul tour buses, which will be converted to electric vehicles next year, will be conducted. Approximately 50 chargers will be supplied to bus garages and other locations by 2026.
LS E-Link is engaged in the electric vehicle charging business primarily targeting B2B customers such as large transportation and freight companies that require large-scale power. It provides various charging solutions, including ceiling-mounted chargers and charging management systems. The company is building electric vehicle charging infrastructure and providing charging services to regional bus operators and nationwide logistics companies.
CEO Kim said, "LS E-Link will be a reliable partner in Seoul’s customized charger supply policy through our charging solutions."
Head Yeo stated, "We expect that after the agreement, a convenient charging environment will be created, contributing to the expansion of electric vehicle adoption."
