aT Flown to Jakarta, Indonesia... Accelerating Entry into 'K-Halal Food' Market
The Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT) announced on the 31st that it participated in the "2024 Jakarta FHI International Food Expo," held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from the 23rd to the 26th of this month, achieving a total export consultation performance of 14.43 million USD.
Indonesia, which has the fourth largest population in the world, is emerging as an important market for expanding K-Food exports. The export value of K-Food to Indonesia recorded 135 million USD by the end of June this year, an increase of 6.4% compared to the same period last year. In particular, ▲ processed coffee products 34 million USD (up 17.3% YoY) ▲ beverages 13 million USD (up 15.8%) ▲ ramen 7 million USD (up 25.8%) are driving the export growth trend.

Accordingly, aT formed a Korea Pavilion with Hampyeong-gun and 11 excellent export companies to expand K-Food exports in Indonesia, showcasing a variety of products such as health foods like red ginseng and collagen, as well as beverages and coffee that are popular locally. Kwon Oh-yeop, Director of Export Food at aT, said, "Indonesia is the country with the largest Muslim population among single countries, making it a key market for expanding K-Halal food." He added, "With Halal certification becoming mandatory in Indonesia this year, we will thoroughly prepare through various support projects to ensure that K-Food exports continue to expand."
