'Digital Healthcare Specialist' DHP Newly Selected as TIPS Operator by Ministry of SMEs and Startups
Digital Healthcare Partners (DHP), a specialized investment firm in digital healthcare, announced on the 30th that it has been newly selected as an operator of TIPS by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
TIPS is a representative private-led technology startup support program by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. It selects outstanding startup companies through private investors and supports them by matching private investment with government funds to promote startups led by highly skilled technical personnel. Among the 22 newly selected operators, DHP was named as a general operator alongside Shinhan Venture Investment, KB Investment, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, and 500 Global.
The DHP consortium is specialized in discovering, investing in, and nurturing healthcare startups and is composed of partners with expertise in related fields. Among medical institutions, Samsung Seoul Hospital and Bundang Seoul National University Hospital Startup Incubation Centers participated, along with Yonsei University Biohealth Technology Holding Company, a biohealthcare specialized technology holding company affiliated with Severance Hospital, as well as Gangwon Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, Lunit, and the US venture capital (VC) Strong Ventures.
Through this selection as a TIPS operator, DHP plans to actively invest in digital healthcare startups that innovate healthcare based on deep tech. Companies selected for TIPS through DHP’s recommendation can receive investment attraction and mentoring, with general TIPS providing up to 500 million KRW and deep tech TIPS up to 1.5 billion KRW in funding. Additionally, up to 100 million KRW each can be supported for startup commercialization and overseas marketing funds.
