Seongdong-gu 'Seongsu Kids Cafe' Opens
Full Operation from July 29, Seongsu Young Children Plaza Fully Remodeled and Opened as Kids Cafe
Various Activities Including Physical Play, Role Play, and Smart Play Space, Free Use Available with Advance Reservation
Seongdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jung Won-oh) opened the 'Seongsu Kids Cafe' on the first floor of Seongsu 1-ga 1-dong Community Service Center on the 29th.
The Seoul-style kids cafe is a public indoor play space where all children can play safely and freely without restrictions such as fine dust or weather, at an affordable price. Seongdong-gu remodeled the existing Seongsu Early Childhood Plaza to newly open the Seoul-style 'Seongsu Kids Cafe.'
'Seongsu Kids Cafe' (18 Ttukseom-ro 3-gil, 1st floor of Seongsu 1-ga 1-dong Community Service Center) was officially opened on the 29th after a pilot operation starting from the 22nd of this month. It is an indoor playground with an area of 118㎡.
The interior of the facility reflects the latest trends and consists of ▲ a physical play space that helps healthy physical development ▲ a role-playing space to foster creativity ▲ an interactive media smart play space that induces brain and physical activities. It is expected to add enjoyment with a unique experience not available in existing indoor playgrounds. Convenience spaces such as a nursing room are also provided for users.
'Seongsu Kids Cafe' operates three 120-minute sessions from Monday to Saturday (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.). Reservations can be made every Tuesday in advance through the Seoul Our Neighborhood Care Portal, and the usage fee is free.
The district was selected for the Seoul-style Kids Cafe contest project in November last year and secured about 300 million KRW in city funds. Starting with the remodeling basic design in January this year, full-scale construction began in April, and safety inspections were completed in June.

Jung Won-oh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, said, "We are pleased to provide a play environment with various configurations through the opening of Seongsu Kids Cafe, creating a space where children can enjoy playing." He added, "We will continue to strive to make Seongdong-gu a great place to raise children where both parents and children are happy."
