Megabox Exclusive Release of 'Hero: Live in Cinema'
The musical 'Hero,' which depicts the last year of independence activist Ahn Jung-geun, will be shown on the theater screen.
Megabox announced on the 29th that the live film version of the musical 'Hero,' titled 'Hero: Live in Cinema,' will be exclusively released on the 21st of next month. 'Hero' is an original musical that portrays the period from when Ahn Jung-geun and his comrades resolved to carry out the independence movement and prepared for the mission, to the moment in October 1909 in Harbin when he assassinated Ito Hirobumi and faced his death sentence. Since its premiere in 2009, it has been recognized for its artistic excellence by winning six awards each at The Musical Awards and the Korean Musical Awards. It also became the second domestic original musical, after 'Myeongseong Hwanghu,' to surpass one million cumulative viewers.

'Hero: Live in Cinema' features Jung Sung-hwa, who has portrayed Ahn Jung-geun since the original production. Kim Do-hyung plays Ito Hirobumi, and Jeong Jae-eun plays Seol-hee, the last court lady of Empress Myeongseong who attempts to avenge Ito.
