MyBach's First Electric Vehicle Unveiled in Korea... 225 Million KRW
Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV and Limited Edition Unveiled
Mercedes-Benz Korea unveiled the first pure electric vehicle of its top-tier brand Mercedes-Maybach (hereinafter Maybach), the EQS SUV, on the 25th. A limited edition Night Series was also revealed.
The Maybach EQS SUV is a model that was first digitally unveiled last year at the Shanghai Motor Show. Its exterior resembles that of Mercedes-Benz electric vehicles. Additionally, it incorporates the Maybach brand emblem, patterns, and unique design elements. Customers can choose from eight basic colors and five two-tone paint exterior colors with different upper and lower shades.
The interior features seats made of exclusive Nappa leather and the MBUX Hyperscreen, which combines three displays. Considering that it is mainly used as a chauffeur-driven vehicle, the rear seats offer ventilation, massage, neck and shoulder heating functions, and can recline up to 43.5 degrees. There is a calf massage function, and if the four-seat option is selected, the center console includes a refrigerator and dedicated champagne glasses. The rear seat screens are dual 11.6-inch Full HD touchscreens, along with a 7-inch tablet screen.
The company explained that noise and vibration intrusion were reduced by using insulation materials, laminated double-glass, a panoramic sunroof wind deflector, and special acoustic foam on the vehicle's underbody panels, including separation between the interior and trunk. There is a function that disconnects the front motor to allow rear-wheel-only driving depending on driving conditions. The audio system is a Burmester 4D surround system with 15 speakers and 8 exciters, delivering 790W output.
It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds. The driving range on a single charge is 612 km (WLTP standard). Although domestic certification is not yet complete, the range is reported to be around 470 km.
Among the driving modes, the Maybach driving program is included as standard. The company explained that this program replaces the existing comfort mode to enhance rear passenger ride comfort. The air suspension adjusts up to 25 mm depending on driving speed. Rear-wheel steering is also possible up to 10 degrees. The Maybach EQS 680 SUV will be launched next month, priced at 225 million KRW including VAT.
Matthias Becht, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Korea, described it as "a model that fully embodies the brand's goal of ultimate luxury even in the era of electrification."

The limited edition Night Series, produced in 45 units, applies a new design concept. The vehicle combines black and silver throughout. Dark chrome is used in various places, and the wheel patterns and interior decorations are also different. Both the Maybach S 580 and GLS 600 Manufaktur Night Series use 8-cylinder gasoline engines and are priced at 330 million KRW. Only 20 units of each were imported. The EQS SUV Night Series consists of 5 units, priced at 255 million KRW.
