This annual camp is designed to strengthen basic chemistry education with the goal of becoming a leading nation in future technology. Students can easily understand advanced chemistry knowledge, participate in hands-on experiments, and nurture their interest and creativity in chemistry.

Participants will have the opportunity to realize their dreams of becoming scientists through advanced chemistry lectures and experiments led by UNIST chemistry faculty, as well as campus tours. Up to 40 students can participate per session, held once a month until November at the UNIST campus, with each session running for five hours.

The camp is open to students currently enrolled in elementary, middle, or high schools nationwide, and applications can be submitted through the website. The deadline for the first round of applications is July 30.

The Department of Physics will also pilot the 'Quantum Science Camp.' This program will provide future scientists with the opportunity to directly experience and learn basic science through special lectures and experiments.

Kwon Taehyuk, Dean of the College of Natural Sciences (Director of the X-Dynamics Research Institute), stated, "Basic science education is the foundation of future science and technology, and nurturing creative talent is the key to enhancing national competitiveness. We hope that the UNIST Chemistry Camp and Quantum Science Camp will inspire students with interest and passion for basic science."

The 2024 UNIST Chemistry Camp is operated by the Star Bridge Center with support from the Ministry of Education, the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity, and the UNIST Department of Chemistry.
