Investigation Launched Following Tip Received in November Last Year
A current police officer who was intoxicated assaulted a fellow officer who had responded to the scene, and there are allegations that the district police station staff covered up the incident, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
On the 17th, the Public Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced that they conducted a search and seizure at the Banpo District Police Station of the Seocho Police Station in Seoul that morning and secured related materials.
The police received a report that in November of last year, Sergeant A from the Criminal Division of the Seocho Police Station assaulted a police officer from the Banpo District Police Station while intoxicated, but the case was not formally charged and was quietly resolved.
