Gwangju Gwangsan-gu Facilities Management Corporation Signs 'No-Strike' Collective Agreement with Labor Union
The Gwangsan-gu Facilities Management Corporation in Gwangju Metropolitan City has successfully concluded a collective agreement (wages and supplements) with the corporation's environmental workers' union through a non-contentious and peaceful negotiation.
On the morning of the 12th, a signing ceremony for the agreement was held in the conference room of Bitgoeul National Sports Center, attended by Lim Young-il, Chairman of the Corporation, and negotiation representatives from the environmental workers' union (Public Solidarity Labor Union) on both sides.
Excluding temporary negotiations, the corporation conducted a total of 17 negotiation sessions (3 main negotiations, 14 working-level negotiations), 2 adjustment meetings, and 3 separate labor-management consultations, achieving mutually satisfactory results on long-standing issues such as ▲ changes to the retirement allowance system for environmental workers ▲ increase in the internal evaluation pay rate.
So far, the corporation has made efforts to foster a harmonious labor-management atmosphere through various labor-management meetings, operating No-Meeting Days, representing workers' voices, and appointing labor directors to participate in management rights. It is also working hard to reduce complaints from local residents by establishing a daily collection system.
