Gyeonggi Medical Center Anseong Hospital to Operate Dedicated Multi-Use Container Rooms Starting the 12th
Gyeonggi Province is introducing 'dedicated rooms for reusable containers' at the funeral hall of Anseong Hospital, Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center.
Earlier in January, Gyeonggi Province, along with 28 affiliated public institutions including the Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center, declared the 'Gyeonggi Province Disposable Product Reduction' initiative.
Anseong Hospital announced that starting from the 12th of this month, two out of seven rooms in the funeral hall will be operated exclusively for reusable containers. Accordingly, residents using the reusable container-only funeral hall can use the reusable container service free of charge until the budget for this year is exhausted.
Gyeonggi Province plans to gradually expand the introduction of reusable containers to the funeral halls of five hospitals under the Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center, starting with Anseong Hospital.
Cha Seong-su, Director of the Climate, Environment and Energy Bureau of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "The introduction of reusable containers at the funeral hall of Anseong Hospital, Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center, is a leading exemplary case of reducing disposable products as a public institution, while actively participating in environmental protection practices and creating eco-friendly funeral halls. We will strive to introduce reusable containers in more places so that residents can use them and practice environmental protection."
