Promoting Community Development and Strengthening Friendly Relations Through the Hometown Love Donation Program
POSCO Pohang Steelworks and Gwangyang Steelworks have joined hands with North Gyeongsang Province and South Jeolla Province for regional development.

View original imageOn the 11th, Pohang and Gwangyang Steelworks held an event at the central cafeteria of Pohang Steelworks to encourage mutual participation in the 'Hometown Love Donation Program' between employees of the Pohang and Gwangyang regions, pledging to promote the program and strengthen friendly relations with the local community.
The event was attended by Jeong Changshik, Deputy Head of Pohang Steelworks Administration, Jeong Sangkyung, Deputy Head of Gwangyang Steelworks Administration, Lee Bonseok, POSCO Labor-Management Council Employee Representative, as well as employees from both steelworks and about 30 officials from Pohang City and Gwangyang City, adding significance to the occasion.
The 'Hometown Love Donation Program' is a system designed to promote donations for the development of local communities. Individuals can donate to the local government of their choice, receive tax deductions and return gifts, and the local governments use the donations to fund projects that enhance the welfare of residents.
The mutual donation encouragement event aimed to inspire more employees to participate in the Hometown Love Donation Program and reaffirmed the commitment of Pohang and Gwangyang Steelworks to take the lead as companies that coexist with the local community.
