RaonSecure Executive Director Kim Tae-jin Receives Prime Minister's Commendation for Contributions to Digital Government Development
Kim Tae-jin, Executive Director of RaonSecure, an IT security and authentication platform company led by CEOs Lee Soon-hyung and Lee Jung-ah, received the "2024 Prime Minister's Commendation for Digital Government Advancement" at the 13th Information Security Day Ceremony held on the 10th.
Kim Tae-jin was recognized for his contributions to the advancement of digital government by overseeing the development of blockchain-based digital ID technology and enhancing national administrative efficiency and public safety through mobile ID standardization activities, earning him the Prime Minister's Commendation.
RaonSecure developed and launched a blockchain-based digital ID platform that combines its blockchain technology with the world's first globally certified biometric authentication (FIDO) technology. The OmniOne Digital ID offers strong security and a user-friendly experience through blockchain technology and FIDO-based identity verification processes.
Utilizing its blockchain-based digital ID platform, RaonSecure established the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s "Mobile Driver's License," the nation’s first government-backed mobile ID, in 2022. Earlier this month, the company secured the "Mobile Resident Registration Card" project, adding to its domestic mobile ID implementation references. Additionally, it has implemented blockchain-based digital ID technology in the "Mobile National Veterans Registration Card," "Mobile Government Employee ID," and the "Gyeongsangnam-do Digital Public Service Platform."
Notably, RaonSecure’s mobile driver's license was selected as an excellent standard by the Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA) at the 104th Information and Communications Standards Assembly in December last year. Building on this recognition, the company is accelerating efforts to ensure compatibility with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) international standards for mobile driver's licenses.
Kim Tae-jin stated, "I believe this award is given to everyone who has worked together to establish mobile IDs in South Korea," adding, "I hope mobile IDs will play a key role in successfully establishing our country's digital government."
