Yurim Park is an urban forest created in commemoration of the 77th birthday of the late Lee Ingu, honorary chairman of Gyeryong Construction, and was donated to Daejeon City, with Yuseong District currently managing it.
However, due to aging facilities and a lack of parking space, comprehensive maintenance is needed.
In particular, parking is limited to only 44 spaces on the river embankment, causing inconvenience to users during large-scale events such as the annual Yuseong Chrysanthemum Exhibition and CheongsonyunnaBe Hanmadang.
Accordingly, the district plans to invest 1 billion KRW by August to improve amenities such as pergolas, picnic tables, sports facilities, and walking trails, and to increase the number of parking spaces in the park and river embankment area to 100.
Jung Yongrae, Mayor of Yuseong District, said, "Through this environmental improvement and facility maintenance project, we will provide high-quality park services so that residents can use Yurim Park more safely and conveniently."
