Busan Transportation Corporation Wins Grand Prize for Outstanding Public Institution Safety and Health Practices
First Local Public Enterprise Recognized for Achieving Zero Major Accidents
Outstanding Activities Presented on 'Field-Oriented Self-Regulation Prevention'
Busan Transportation Corporation (President Lee Byungjin) became the first local public enterprise to win the Grand Prize at the 2024 Public Institution Safety and Health Activity Best Practices Presentation Competition.
This competition, held on the afternoon of the 4th at Ilsan KINTEX, is part of the '2024 Industrial Safety and Health Emphasis Week' event, hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and organized by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency. Since 2019, it has been conducted for public institutions to discover outstanding safety and health activities, spread them to other organizations, encourage substantial safety and health practices, and contribute to the prevention of industrial accidents.
The corporation competed in this event, which targeted 741 public institutions and local public enterprises, and advanced to the finals after passing the preliminary round, contending with six other public institutions. The Grand Prize was awarded in recognition of its efforts to ensure the right to safety for all, including citizens, through activities such as major accident prevention.
At the competition, the corporation presented various outstanding safety and health practices it is currently implementing, including: ▲Establishing an organic safety and health system to build a field-oriented self-regulatory prevention framework ▲Implementing a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) management program and digitizing risk factors and countermeasures to operate in conjunction with TBM meeting minutes, thereby promoting digital-based safety and health activities ▲Creating a mutually beneficial safety and health culture with subcontracted workplaces through the implementation of special safety management contract conditions and customized safety management initiatives.
