Dong-A University Selected for Next-Generation Biohealth Industry Innovation Talent Development Project
6.3 Billion Won Support, Building an Industrial Ecosystem
Dong-A University (President Lee Haewoo) announced on the 3rd that the College of Life Resources Science (Project Director Jung Howon) has been selected for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s “2024 Next-Generation Biohealth Industry Innovation Talent Cultivation Project.”
This project involves the Department of Molecular Genetics, the Department of Applied Biological Engineering, the Department of Food Life Engineering, and the Department of Life Resources Industry. Its goal is to cultivate industry-demand-based, customized talent and produce professionals who can immediately contribute to the biohealth sector through practical education.
The College of Life Resources Science at Dong-A University will establish educational infrastructure focused on biohealth specialization, eco-friendly future industries, and healthy living, with an emphasis on digital and green industries. Additionally, the university plans to strengthen practical training elements such as field practice, field trips, and internships to enhance students’ on-site practical skills.
This year, Dong-A University will receive 630 million KRW in funding for the project, which will be used for interdisciplinary research and education.

Professor Jung stated, “Through this project, we aim to foster specialized talent in the biohealth materials industry and contribute to building a sustainable industrial ecosystem by strengthening cooperation with local industries and research institutions.”
