The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 2nd that Jeong Hee-gwon, former Director of Science and Technology Innovation Coordination, has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Research and Development Special Zone Promotion Foundation.
Chairman Jeong previously served as Head of the Science Belt Promotion Division at the Ministry of Future Creation and Science, International Cooperation Officer at the Ministry of Science and ICT, Director of the Science and Technology Policy Bureau, and Director of Science and Technology Innovation Coordination.

The Chairman of the Research and Development Special Zone Foundation is appointed by the Minister of Science and ICT following a resolution by the Executive Recommendation Committee and the Board of Directors, in accordance with the Special Act on the Promotion of Research and Development Special Zones and related regulations, with a term of three years.
