"Completely Redesigned After 10 Years" New Mini Cooper S Launched in Korea
Mini Korea officially launched the 4th generation fully redesigned Mini Cooper S in the domestic market on the 1st.
The Mini Cooper S is the 4th generation fully redesigned model that the Mini brand is presenting for the first time in 10 years since 2014.
It was newly released emphasizing Mini's iconic design, the lively driving sensation represented by the 'Go-kart feeling,' and innovative digital experiences.
The new Mini Cooper highlights its unique body proportions. The front features distinctive round headlights and an octagonal grille with emphasized contours. The rear maintains the rear lights shaped like the British flag 'Union Jack,' inheriting its unique design heritage.
The interior also maximizes a minimalistic sense. A 240mm diameter circular OLED display is placed at the center of the dashboard, creating an advanced atmosphere. The circular OLED integrates various functions such as the instrument cluster, navigation, interior climate control, and infotainment.
The new Mini Cooper offers an upgraded digital experience. It is equipped with the latest operating system, 'Mini Operating System 9,' allowing the use of T-map based Korean navigation. In-car gaming functions, video streaming, and third-party apps are also supported.
Advanced driver assistance features have also been enhanced. All models come standard with 'Driving Assistant,' which includes front collision warning, pedestrian warning, and lane departure warning functions; 'Parking Assistant,' which supports parking and reversing assistance; and LED headlights with high beam assist.
The Mini Cooper S 3-door is equipped with a Mini TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder gasoline engine producing a maximum output of 204 horsepower and a maximum torque of 30.6 kg·m, paired with a Steptronic 7-speed double-clutch transmission. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.6 seconds.
The new Mini Cooper S is launched in a single favored trim and priced at 48.1 million KRW.
