Doosan Enerbility Signs Contract to Supply Ultra-Large 'K-Gas Turbine' to Bundang Combined Power Plant

Doosan Enerbility continues to secure orders for main equipment of combined power plants, including gas turbines developed with domestic technology.

View original imageDoosan Enerbility announced on the 1st that it has signed a supply contract worth 260 billion KRW with Korea South-East Power for the main equipment of Block 1 in the Bundang Combined Cycle Modernization Project.
Korea South-East Power is promoting a modernization project to convert Bundang Combined Power Plant Blocks 1 and 2, completed in two phases in 1993 and 1997, into a high-efficiency and eco-friendly power plant. Doosan Enerbility plans to supply a 380 MW class H-class ultra-large gas turbine with an inlet temperature exceeding 1500 degrees Celsius, steam turbines, and heat supply facilities to Bundang Combined Block 1 by March 2028.
Son Seung-woo, Head of Power Service BG at Doosan Enerbility, said, "Orders for the K-Gas Turbine, developed jointly by over 340 domestic industry, academia, and research institutions, are expanding," adding, "We will produce and supply the best products to ensure that Korea South-East Power, which has greatly contributed to revitalizing the domestic gas turbine industry, can stably supply electricity and heat."

Meanwhile, Doosan Enerbility signed a contract to supply Korea’s first domestically produced gas turbine, successfully localized in 2019, to the Gimpo Combined Heat and Power Plant. Building on this, the company signed supply contracts last year for the main equipment including 380 MW class gas turbines at the Boryeong New Combined Power Plant and in January at the Andong Combined Power Plant. Doosan Enerbility plans to accelerate business expansion with a goal of securing over 7 trillion KRW in gas turbine-related orders domestically over the next five years.
