Minister Andeok Geun Visits U.S. for First Korea-U.S.-Japan Industrial Ministers Meeting... "Strengthening Cooperation in Advanced Industries and Clean Energy"
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on the 23rd that Minister Andeokgeun will visit Washington D.C., USA from the 24th to the 28th. This visit to the U.S. was arranged following the agreement among South Korea, the U.S., and Japan to hold the 1st Korea-U.S.-Japan Industrial Ministers Meeting in Washington D.C. on the 26th.
The three countries agreed last August at the Camp David summit to establish and regularize the Korea-U.S.-Japan Industrial Ministers Meeting to strengthen trilateral cooperation. Accordingly, the three countries will hold the 1st Korea-U.S.-Japan Industrial Ministers Meeting to discuss ways to enhance regional economic security and industrial cooperation, and plan to launch a Korea-U.S.-Japan Business Council led by economic organizations from the three countries to expand cooperation into the private sector.
Minister Ahn will also take this opportunity to meet with the U.S. Secretary of Commerce and key figures in the industrial and energy sectors to broadly discuss ways to strengthen Korea-U.S. cooperation in industry and energy. Following last year, the 2nd Korea-U.S. Supply Chain and Industrial Dialogue (SCCD) will be held on June 27 to seek practical outcomes in advanced industries such as semiconductors and bio, and the Korea-U.S. SCCD Semiconductor Forum (June 27), Advanced Industry Technology Cooperation Forum (June 27), and Clean Energy Business Forum (June 25) will be held to provide networking opportunities to activate business cooperation between companies from both countries.
