"4 Servings for 15,000 Won"... Emart's Emergency Discount Campaign to Stabilize Samgyeopsal Prices
Domestic Refrigerated Samgyeopsal Stockpile of 500 Tons Released Until the 30th
Discounts Also on Imported Frozen and Refrigerated Samgyeopsal
Emart announced on the 21st that it will hold an 'emergency measure' discount event to lower the price of Samgyeopsal. During the 17-day event from today until July 7, a total of 500 tons of Samgyeopsal, including domestic, imported chilled, and frozen Samgyeopsal, will be released.
As pork prices have continued to rise over the past two months, Emart has been stockpiling supplies in advance through its own livestock distribution center, the Meat Center. With Samgyeopsal prices recently becoming a hot issue, Emart plans to release all the stockpiled supply during this event period to stabilize prices.
First, from June 21 to 30, Emart will sell 'domestic chilled Samgyeopsal/neck meat (100g)' at 1,880 KRW, discounted by 1,000 KRW from the regular price. For a family of four, this means purchasing 4 servings (800g) of Samgyeopsal for 15,040 KRW. This event is limited to 2 packs per person, and stores in the Jeju region are excluded from the promotion.
From July 1, discounts will continue on brand Samgyeopsal, including antibiotic-free and animal welfare certified products, as well as affordable imported chilled and frozen Samgyeopsal. 'Brand Samgyeopsal/foreleg (100g)' will be offered at a 40% discount when Shinsegae Points are accumulated, and until July 7, 'Spanish frozen Samgyeopsal 1kg' will be sold for 8,800 KRW. During the weekend from July 5 to 7, imported chilled Samgyeopsal/neck meat (100g) from Canada, the United States, and other countries will be sold at 1,188 KRW with a 40% discount when Shinsegae Points are accumulated.
Summer delicacies and family meals will also be discounted with Shinsegae Points accumulation until June 30. Emart’s private brand (PB) Peacock offers chilled noodles, which pair well with Samgyeopsal, at a 20-30% discount. Peacock has prepared both Hamheung-style and Pyongyang-style cold noodles to reflect diverse customer preferences. 'Peacock Hamheung-style Mul/Bibim Naengmyeon (925g)' is sold for 9,086 KRW, and 'Peacock Pyongyang Naengmyeon 2 types (Clean taste 1,102g, Rich taste 995g)' are each sold for 7,984 KRW. This means two servings of cold noodles are sold for under 10,000 KRW.
Additionally, early summer fruit 'Farmers Pick Tyvek Plums (1kg, pack)' will be offered at 8,900 KRW, discounted by 2,000 KRW, and 'Flatfish and Salmon Assorted Sashimi (around 350g, pack)' will be available at 24,735 KRW with a 25% discount.
