Democratic Party's Kim Junhyuk Files Countersuit Against Ewha Hakdang Over 'Ewha University Student Sexual Bribery Remarks'
On the 20th, Kim Jun-hyeok, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, filed a complaint with the police against the Ewha Womans University Foundation and the Ewha alumni association regarding his remarks about 'sexual bribery involving Ewha students.'

View original imageOn the same day, Kim announced that he had filed a defamation complaint with the National Police Agency's Criminal Investigation Headquarters against Jang Myung-soo, chairman of the Ewha Womans University Foundation, and officials from the Ewha alumni association.
In August 2022, on the YouTube channel 'Kim Yong-min TV,' Kim stated, "Kim Hwal-ran played a major role in sending comfort women to the military," adding, "During the U.S. military government period, Ewha Womans University students were sexually bribed to U.S. military officers." In response, the Ewha Foundation and the family of former Ewha president Kim Hwal-ran filed a complaint against Kim.
On the 18th, the Ewha Foundation stated, "We have submitted a complaint to the Gyeonggi Southern Provincial Police Agency against Kim for defamation," criticizing, "His false statements have severely damaged the image of President Kim Hwal-ran and the members of Ewha Womans University, and based on a discriminatory and distorted perspective that should not be held by a member of the National Assembly, he insulted not only the Ewha Foundation but all women."

Kim said, "Even though the police are investigating, the Ewha Foundation's additional complaints can only be seen as an attempt to pressure the investigative agency," adding, "It is an act to conceal political intentions and obstruct legislative activities."
