‘Rolls-Royce Man’ Doctor Prescribing Drugs and Sexually Assaulting Patients Sentenced to 17 Years in First Trial
A doctor who was prosecuted for prescribing narcotics to the driver involved in the so-called ‘Apgujeong Rolls-Royce hit-and-run incident’ and sexually assaulting patients was sentenced to a heavy prison term in the first trial.

The court also ordered Yeom to pay a fine of 7.92 million won and imposed a 5-year probation order.
The court criticized, “A doctor, who should take the lead in preventing drug abuse, treating addicts, and social welfare, was only eager to make money by prescribing propofol.” It added, “The crime of using his medical position to sexually target victims under sedation is also of very poor nature,” and explained the sentencing reason by stating, “He directly violated the most important part of the Hippocratic Oath, which is ‘a doctor must not harm the patient.’”
However, the court dismissed the prosecution’s request to attach an electronic tracking device. The court stated, “Considering that he stopped the crime before being caught by the investigation agency, it seems that rehabilitation is not impossible,” and “Since there is no prior record of the same kind, it was decided not to attach the electronic device.”
Yeom is accused of mixing and administering propofol, midazolam, diazepam, ketamine, and other drugs to Shin, the driver involved in the ‘Rolls-Royce incident’ who killed a pedestrian while driving under the influence of drugs in August last year, and falsifying medical records.
He is also accused of administering propofol and other drugs to patients while his medical license was suspended from early October last year. He is charged with illegally filming about ten women under sedation and sexually assaulting some of the patients.
