'3.57 Million Users of "Uri Dongnae GS App"... No.1 Offline'
Maintaining First Place Since March This Year
GS Retail announced on the 13th that the number of users of the 'Uri Dongnae GS App' reached a record high of 3.57 million last month, solidifying its position as the number one app among offline retailers.
According to the app analysis service Mobile Index, the monthly active users (MAU) of the Uri Dongnae GS App reached 3.57 million last month. The app reclaimed the top spot among offline retailer apps with 2.99 million users in March this year, and continued to grow for three consecutive months with 3.02 million users in April. As of May, the gap widened significantly compared to the MAU of top-tier mart apps by 910,000 users and convenience store apps by a whopping 1.86 million users.
GS Retail attributes the main growth factor of the Uri Dongnae GS App to the synergy effect with 'GS Pay.' GS Pay is GS Retail’s proprietary payment system, allowing users to link their credit card or payment account just once and make payments with a single click across GS Retail’s online and offline channels.
In October 2022, GS Retail newly launched the Uri Dongnae GS App by integrating all offline channel apps and positioned GS Pay as a core service prominently on the app. As of the end of last month, the cumulative number of GS Pay subscribers was estimated to have reached 4 million.

A GS Retail official said, “The explosive growth trend of the Uri Dongnae GS App is ongoing, with new downloads reaching 1 million per quarter,” adding, “We will continue to enhance the app by adding differentiated services and focus our efforts on building an optimized O4O model that maximizes profits for GS25 and GS The Fresh stores.”
