Gwangjin-gu Supports Treatment for Trees Damaged by Pests and Diseases
Accepting Applications for Tree Pest and Disease Control Projects Around Residential Areas Until November
Targeting Tree Pests and Diseases in Detached and Multi-family Housing, Elderly and Childcare Facilities, and Educational Research Institutions
Providing Prompt Control Support Through Specialized Tree Medical Institutions (Tree Hospitals)
.
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is launching rapid pest and disease control support for trees occurring around residential areas.
Since March, the district has been implementing the "Residential Area Tree Pest and Disease Control Support Project" for residents who find it difficult to carry out pest control themselves. By timely control, the spread of pests and diseases is prevented, creating a pleasant green environment. Last year, 1,700 large trees and 2,800㎡ of shrubs were treated at 66 locations.
This year, a budget of 60 million KRW has been allocated to carry out intensive pest control during the summer when various pests are rampant. When pest control is needed for trees grown by residents, the procedure of on-site visit, diagnosis, and pest control is completed through the tree hospital, a specialized tree treatment institution.
The project period is until November, and eligible applicants are those with pests and diseases occurring in ▲ detached houses and multi-family houses (excluding apartments) ▲ elderly and childcare facilities ▲ educational and research facilities. However, pests such as mosquitoes, flies, and mites are excluded from the control targets.
Residents who wish to apply can visit the Park and Greenery Division or apply via email by referring to the project guide posted on the Gwangjin-gu Office website.
