Elegant Brothers, the operator of Baemin, announced on the 11th that it has signed a 'Win-Win Agreement for Community Co-Growth' with the Win-Win Growth Committee and the National Merchants Federation. This agreement was established to enhance the self-sustainability of traditional market merchants nationwide and support their entry into online sales channels. Specifically, win-win activities such as developing traditional market specialty products, supporting digital sales channels through the establishment of short-distance delivery services, and providing digital education will be carried out.
For the development of specialty products, a total of three traditional markets nationwide will be selected. The selected traditional markets will receive support for developing about 30 local specialty products such as meal kits, prototype production, and building online sales channels. Traditional markets wishing to participate can apply through the Win-Win Growth Committee's website starting from today.
Baemin will strive to widely promote traditional market brands to customers and help expand sales channels and increase sales for small business owners. It also plans to continue communication with the National Merchants Federation and actively support projects needed in the markets.
In April, Baemin supported the development of specialty products reflecting the brand of traditional markets in collaboration with Bucheon Jungnang Sarang Market. They supported all processes of product development, including recipes and design, developed meal kits, and sold more than 3,000 units through a month-long special exhibition. Kim Jung-hyun, Head of Value Management at Elegant Brothers, said, "Through this agreement, a cooperative system has been established to help local traditional market merchants," adding, "We will carry out practical support projects so that merchants unfamiliar with online platforms can receive help in pioneering digital sales channels."
