Sacheon City Launches KakaoTalk Service for Local Tax Refund Applications
Introduction of Easier and More Convenient Application Methods in the Smart Era
Sacheon City in Gyeongnam Province announced on the 11th that it has launched the 'KakaoTalk Refund Application Service,' which allows residents to apply for local tax refunds using their smartphones.
Local tax refunds typically arise due to reasons such as the transfer of vehicle ownership or scrapping after paying automobile tax in advance, or due to corrections in national tax for local income tax.
However, in the case of small refund amounts, the application rate remains low due to taxpayers' lack of interest and the inconvenience of the application process.
To address this, the city has decided to introduce a simpler and more convenient application method suitable for the smart era, and has started the KakaoTalk local tax refund application service this month.
Taxpayers who receive a local tax refund notice can apply by searching for 'Sacheon City Local Tax Refund' on the KakaoTalk channel and sending their refund number, name, date of birth, and bank account number under their name.
In addition, local tax refunds can still be applied for using existing methods such as phone, in-person visits, or the Wetax system.
A city official stated, "Expanding the ways to apply for local tax refunds will increase convenience for taxpayers," and added, "We will realize an open, taxpayer-centered tax administration."
