An official from the Gangwon Regional Meteorological Office explained, "After the minimum morning temperature in Gangneung dropped to 25 degrees at 5:53 a.m., it is rising again. If the temperature does not drop further, the first tropical night in Gangwon this year will be June 10, which is 6 days earlier than last year's first tropical night on June 16."
The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted that daytime temperatures will rise above 30 degrees Celsius in most parts of the country (above 33 degrees Celsius in inland Gyeongsang Province), and the highest perceived temperature will reach 31 degrees Celsius (above 33 degrees Celsius in some parts of Gyeongsang Province under heatwave warnings), making it hot.
