Hive Launches 'Dearse', Korea's First Creator Fandom Platform
Subsidiary Binary Korea Develops Platform
Sandbox Network Operates
The fandom platform, once considered exclusive to K-pop idols, actors, and other celebrities, is expanding into the creator domain, including YouTubers and streamers.
HYBE announced on the 10th that its subsidiary Binary Korea will officially launch Korea's first creator fandom platform on the 22nd.
The new platform is named ‘THEUS,’ meaning ‘a space where creators and fans become us (US).’ Binary Korea developed the application (app) service, and digital entertainment company Sandbox Network is responsible for creator onboarding and operational management, jointly promoting the business.
Earlier, in October last year, the two companies agreed to create a fandom platform for creators such as YouTubers and TikTokers and their fans, signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU).
THEUS aims to be ‘the one and only playground where creators and fandoms gather,’ providing an environment where creators can actively engage and communicate with their fans. Each creator has a dedicated ‘Space’ where they can upload their content, interact with fans, and conduct various events, fostering fandom activities.
Binary Korea has been conducting beta tests since March ahead of THEUS’s official launch. Currently, creators such as Ddotty, Yellunni, DdoDdo Couple, Anunu, Angjjing, Jongji Couple, Insagajok, and Jo Jaewon are onboarded on THEUS. Even before the official launch, over 20,000 users have joined, creating a new communication platform alongside the creators.
Binary Korea plans to officially start the service with a launch party featuring famous creators on the 22nd. Before then, about ten more creator teams, including Cheese Film, 1bunman, and Shin Sajang, will join to mark the beginning of Korea’s first creator fandom platform.
