Kim Yul, Professor at Daegu Catholic University, Selected for NRF Excellent Scholar Support Program

250 Million KRW Support Over 5 Years
Professor Kim Yul of Daegu Catholic University Francis College has been selected for the 2024 Excellent Scholar Support Program by the National Research Foundation of Korea.
This project aims to select leading scholars in various fields of the humanities and social sciences who represent the nation, compiling their research achievements to promote the social dissemination of knowledge.
Professor Kim was chosen for the program in recognition of his outstanding research abilities and achievements. He plans to conduct a study that combines the cultural studies of E. Panofsky and the theology of B. Lonergan under the theme of 'Mental Habits and Self-Transcendence.'
This research will be conducted over five years starting from the 1st of this month, with a total research grant of 250 million KRW.
Professor Kim Yul stated, "I will diligently conduct research to explore the potential of self-transcendent individuals who can change the deeply rooted mental habits of Korean society and strive to achieve results at an international level."
