Seonyang Soju Renewed After 19 Years from 'Ijeurin' to 'Malgeullin'
With a Cleaner Taste and a Commitment to Leading Regional Cooperation
Seonyang Soju Co., Ltd. announced that it will renew and launch the representative soju of the Chungcheong region, ‘Ijeurin,’ as ‘Malgeullin.’
‘Malgeullin,’ commonly called “Lin,” is the first brand of the ‘Lin Series’ launched in 2005. It has been loved by local residents through brands such as ‘O2 Lin’ and ‘Ijeurin.’
In rebranding ‘Malgeullin,’ Seonyang Soju expressed a clearer and cleaner ‘Malgeullin’ through a differentiated label design and leaf graphics inspired by nature. It aims to evoke nostalgia among the older generation who remember the original ‘Malgeullin’ and to appeal to younger generations with a fresh and clear image.
By adding barley distilled liquid aged and stored for 15 years, the depth of the soju’s flavor is enhanced, and a double refining process is applied to produce a clearer and cleaner taste.
The brand concept was set as “Making our region clearer, a glass of clarity” to communicate more closely with the local community and to contribute to a cleaner local society.
Celebrating its 51st anniversary this year, Seonyang Soju has been steadily engaging in win-win activities based on the management philosophy of “between people.” Since 2006, it has developed and managed the Gyejoksan Hwangto Trail, investing about 1 billion KRW annually and a total of 18 billion KRW to make the trail a representative barefoot walking pilgrimage site in Korea.
Additionally, through the ‘Local Love Scholarship Campaign’ started in 2019, 5 KRW per bottle is accumulated whenever ‘Ijeurin’ and ‘Seonyang’ soju are sold, with the total accumulated amount reaching approximately 1.14 billion KRW to date. The campaign aims to raise 4 billion KRW over 10 years through ‘Malgeullin’ and ‘Seonyang’ soju.
