Preferred Regions for K-Food Exports Are North America, Southeast Asia, and Northeast Asia
KOTRA Hosts Seoul Food 2024
Survey Conducted Among 219 Participating Companies
Our food-exporting companies have been found to prefer North America, Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, Europe, and Latin America as export regions.
The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) announced on the 10th that this was the result of a survey conducted from March 20 to April 19 targeting 219 companies participating in "Seoul Food 2024" (hereinafter referred to as Seoul Food).
Seoul Food, hosted by KOTRA, will be held from the 11th to the 14th at KINTEX Exhibition Halls 1 and 2 in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do. A total of 1,605 companies from 52 countries around the world will participate to explore innovation and sustainability in Korea's food industry and share global food trends.
According to KOTRA's survey, the most preferred export regions for K-Food companies were North America, Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, Europe, and Latin America, in that order. By country, the highest preferences were for the United States, Japan, Canada, Singapore, and Vietnam. Looking at agricultural, forestry, and fishery food export performance from January to April, the United States had the largest scale at $479 million (approximately 661.4 billion KRW). Japan ($452 million) and China ($440 million) followed.
