Dear citizens of Changwon Special City, national merit recipients, and veterans' families,
On the meaningful occasion of Patriots and Veterans Month, I would first like to express my deepest gratitude and respect to the patriotic martyrs and fallen heroes who gave their lives for the country and its people.
I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks and words of comfort to the national merit recipients and veterans' families who continue to live with exceptional pride and fulfillment despite hardships.
The reason we are able to enjoy peace and prosperity in a free Republic of Korea today is thanks to the heroes who defended the nation with their noble spirit of patriotic devotion.
Changwon is truly a sacred place of national defense, inheriting the historical and spiritual legacy of battles that protected the Republic of Korea during the critical crisis of the Korean War and laid the foundation for the ROK-US alliance.
All of us must show respect and honor to national merit recipients and uniformed personnel, and dedicate our efforts and sincerity to veterans' affairs with a sense of national duty.
Changwon Special City promises to do its utmost to foster a culture of honoring veterans by highly commemorating the patriotic spirit of national merit recipients and respecting and remembering the heroes who dedicated themselves to the nation, in celebration of the 69th Memorial Day and Patriots and Veterans Month.
Once again, in commemoration of Patriots and Veterans Month, I thank all national merit recipients and veterans' families for your dedication, and wish you always health and happiness.
Thank you.
