Buk-gu Opens ‘Buk-gu Park Golf Course’ with 18 Holes
Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, is opening the 'Buk-gu Park Golf Course,' created to expand the park golf infrastructure that is gaining popularity across all generations.
According to Buk-gu on the 30th, the 'Buk-gu Park Golf Course Construction Project,' which has been underway since October last year, was recently completed, and the opening ceremony will be held on the 1st of next month.
The opening ceremony will take place at 9 a.m. on the day of the event at the Buk-gu Park Golf Course (Yeonje-dong 741), with about 200 local residents including recreational sports club members participating. The program will proceed sequentially for 35 minutes, including a 'project progress report,' 'commemorative symbolic ceremony,' and 'course rounds.'
The Buk-gu area where this park golf course was established has had somewhat insufficient infrastructure compared to the demand for park golf, and recreational sports enthusiasts have continuously requested the expansion of park golf facilities.
Accordingly, Buk-gu secured the site for the park golf course and, starting in 2022, went through continuous consultations with the Yeongsan River Basin Environmental Office. In September last year, they obtained permission to use the idle land of Buk-gu Sports Complex, laying the foundation for the project.
Subsequently, with a project budget of 1.3 billion KRW, construction was carried out for about six months starting in October last year, and full-scale operation is set to begin with the opening ceremony on the 1st of next month.
The newly established Buk-gu Park Golf Course is located on a 20,547㎡ site within the Buk-gu Sports Complex in Yeonje-dong and features 18 holes, including ▲Course A with a total length of 630m (9 holes) and ▲Course B with a total length of 592m (9 holes). Additionally, auxiliary facilities such as a grass plaza, management office, and restrooms have been installed for user convenience.
