Paris Opera Ballet Gala Performance... 'Etoile' Park Se-eun Appearance and Program Lineup

The Paris Opera Ballet, the world's oldest ballet company, will present a gala performance at the Seoul Arts Center this July.
The Seoul Arts Center announced on the 22nd that, in co-hosting with Etoile Classic, it will present the "Paris Opera Ballet Etoile Gala 2024," featuring Paris Opera Ballet Etoile (principal dancer) Park Se-eun, from July 20 to 24 at the Opera Theater of the Seoul Arts Center. The performance will feature 10 dancers with outstanding technique and artistry, including Etoiles, the highest rank in the Paris Opera Ballet, as well as the next rank Premier Danseurs and the rank below, Sujets.

View original imagePark Se-eun, who was promoted to Etoile in 2021 as the first Asian dancer to achieve this rank at the Paris Opera Ballet, took charge of the program composition and casting for this performance. She selected 18 core repertoires officially registered by the Paris Opera Ballet and divided them into Program A and B to perform on stage with her fellow dancers. Pianist Son Jeong-beom, the first Korean winner of the ARD International Music Competition, and cellist Baek Seung-yeon, winner of the David Popper Cello Competition, will provide live music for key pieces in the performance.

During the performance period, a workshop for promising Korean ballet dancers will be held. Park Se-eun and Etoile ballerino Paul Marque will participate as instructors to teach the essence of French ballet. The workshop is open to ballet majors born between 2003 and 2008, and applications will be accepted starting on the 28th.
