Iranian Military Spokesperson: "Ceasefire Was an Opportunity to Strengthen Forces... Ready to Respond to War"
The Iranian military stated on May 19 (local time) that it had used the six-week-long ceasefire as an opportunity to strengthen its forces and was prepared to respond even if the United States and Israel resumed the war.
Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia, spokesperson for the Iranian military, said at a pro-government rally held in Tehran's Vali Asr Square that “the military treated the ceasefire period as if it were wartime,” adding, “We used this as an opportunity to enhance our combat capabilities.”
He further warned, “If the enemy—the United States—acts foolishly again and falls into the Zionist (Israel) trap to invade Iran once more, we will open a new front with new tools and means.”
