Icheon City to Hold 'Rice Meal Day' on the 19th to Promote Rice Consumption
Unique Rice Dish Contest and More at Agricultural Theme Park
Gyeonggi-do Icheon City will hold the '2nd Rice Meal Day' event on the 19th at the Icheon Agricultural Theme Park as part of the rice consumption promotion campaign.
This event is the second following last year's first 'Rice Meal Day,' which the city designated as a day to reflect on the meaning of rice and to comfort farmers facing difficulties due to declining consumption.
At this event, the city will hold a 'Rice Cooking Contest' to discover various rice dishes in response to changing dietary trends. A total of 150 teams from high school students, university students, and the general public nationwide applied for the contest, and 10 teams selected in the first expert screening will compete, showcasing unique creative dishes such as rice sausage, rice tart, and rice nurungji scone.

In addition, the city has prepared various family activities such as the heat of a giant cauldron rice cooker, family Yutnori, rice art, and treasure hunting, along with experiences of various snacks and beverages made from rice and generous prizes.
