Korea Future Technology Education Institute Hosts Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Seminar
The Korea Future Technology Education Institute announced on the 8th that it will hold a seminar titled 'Technology Advancement and Service Diversification Plans for Expanding Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Business' on June 21 at the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) Hall in Yeouido, Seoul.
The seminar's morning session will cover topics such as ▲Institutional improvements and business support plans for expanding electric vehicle charging infrastructure and providing diverse services ▲Domestic and international development trends and testing certification to support overseas expansion of electric vehicle charging facilities ▲Installation standards for domestic and international facilities (charging facilities/ESS rooms) to respond to and prevent fires at electric vehicle charging stations, as well as fire suppression and response measures.
In the afternoon, presentations are scheduled on topics including ▲Battery swap and BaaS demonstration: activation plans for battery replacement and subscription service businesses, regulations, and challenges ▲Rapid/ultra-rapid charging system business cases and service diversification: development of rapid/ultra-rapid charging systems and application plans for various user convenience services ▲Commercialization of ESS-based electric vehicle charging systems: commercialization of BESS-based electric vehicle charging stations and large-capacity mobile electric vehicle charging systems ▲Electric vehicle smart charging and DR (demand response) commercialization: commercialization plans for vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) rapid charging and smart charging based on energy trading solutions.

Meanwhile, according to the German consulting firm Roland Berger, the global electric vehicle charging market size is expected to grow nearly sixfold from $55 billion (approximately 72 trillion KRW) this year to $325 billion (approximately 427 trillion KRW) by 2030. Energy market research firm SNE Research forecasts that the domestic electric vehicle charging market size will grow more than tenfold from 600 billion KRW in 2022 to 6.3 trillion KRW by 2030.
