Daejeon City announced that it has completed the basic design of the Yuseong Complex Terminal and plans to start construction within this year.

In February, the city selected a designer through a ‘Phase 2 design competition’ and finalized design improvements and facility plans from March onward through consultations with public architects and negotiations with transportation operators.

Under the concept of ‘The Moment of Departure, The Space of Stay,’ the design features various indoor and outdoor spaces utilizing eaves and plans safe and convenient vehicle and pedestrian flows considering connectivity between different transportation modes.

Additionally, it is the first passenger car terminal nationwide to plan major structures using wooden construction, incorporating eco-friendly architectural elements such as geothermal energy and discharged groundwater utilization.

The Yuseong Complex Terminal will be developed as a public terminal focused on passenger facilities with a total floor area of 3,500㎡ on a 15,000㎡ site near Guam Station, at a cost of 46.5 billion KRW. The detailed design will be completed by November this year, and construction is expected to finish by December 2025.

Once completed, the Yuseong Complex Terminal is expected to serve 5,200 users daily.

Lee Jang-woo, Mayor of Daejeon, stated, “The Yuseong Complex Terminal construction project is progressing smoothly as originally planned,” adding, “We will build a premium terminal that contributes to improving citizens’ transportation convenience and revitalizing the local economy.”
