Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Shin-Kori Unit 2 Begins 8th Planned Preventive Maintenance
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power's Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters (Director Lee Kwang-hoon) halted power generation at 10 a.m. on May 2 to begin planned preventive maintenance for fuel replacement and major equipment servicing at Shin-Kori Unit 2 (Pressurized Water Reactor, 1,000 MW class).
During the planned preventive maintenance period, which will continue until June 10, the Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters will carry out key inspections and improvements to enhance nuclear power plant reliability, including ▲fuel removal and reloading ▲disassembly and inspection of the low-pressure turbine ▲inspection of the emergency diesel generator (EDG) and auxiliary systems ▲statutory inspections under the Nuclear Safety Act and the Electric Utility Act, and other major equipment and system checks.
