10 Local Residents Assigned to 5 Coastal Accident Risk Zones in the Area
Mokpo Coast Guard Station (Chief Kwon Oh-seong) announced on the 1st that it held the '2024 Coastal Safety Keeper' appointment ceremony on the 30th of last month.
The Coastal Safety Keepers appointed this time total 10 people, who were selected through document screening, physical fitness, and interview evaluations following a recruitment announcement in March, and are local residents well acquainted with the characteristics of the coastal waters.

View original imageOn this day, Mokpo Coast Guard presented appointment certificates and provided necessary supplies for the Coastal Safety Keepers' activities, along with pre-education on main duties, service compliance matters, and patrol area information.
The Coastal Safety Keepers will be deployed in pairs to five high-risk coastal accident areas from May to October, conducting various activities such as safety facility inspections and foot patrols to prevent coastal accidents. The five high-risk areas are Bukhang Pier, Bukhang Pier Small Wharf, Peace Plaza, Dongmyeong Port, and Namhang Pier.
