KCC Builds Digital Color Platform to Enhance Client Business Efficiency
Check Client Paint and Production History with a Single Search
Part of Digital Transformation... Ongoing Efforts to Continue
KCC has developed a big data-based digital solution that can improve the work efficiency of its clients.
On the 25th, KCC announced that it has provided its self-developed ‘Digital Color Platform’ for free use by clients and color-coated steel sheet purchasers.
The Digital Color Platform is a total solution program developed to allow clients who purchase paint from KCC and coat it on metal steel sheets to sell to access color, product, production history, and inventory information of the paints they purchased and the color-coated steel sheets produced using those paints anytime and anywhere via web and mobile.
KCC built this Digital Color Platform reflecting client needs so that it is not just about delivering products but also enabling clients to use KCC’s products more efficiently. Approximately 50,000 color data and about 18,000 client product data were all digitized, and AI was integrated to allow users to grasp color, production history, inventory status, and more just by searching.
Through this program, KCC expects that clients will be able to perform tasks such as ‘checking inventory by color and product’ and ‘managing production history’ more easily and quickly. This increase in work efficiency is expected to lead to a virtuous cycle that strengthens client competitiveness by enabling accurate production planning and on-time delivery execution.
Additionally, the Digital Color Platform expanded the range of color choices for color-coated steel sheet purchasers by databasing about 50,000 color information entries, including KCC’s accumulated color data and internationally certified colors. Unlike the existing offline catalog-style color books, which had physical limitations in terms of weight and quantity for color selection, the digitized color data allows purchasers to check and decide on any color.
Furthermore, when a new order for color-coated steel sheets is received from clients, the platform provides mixing recipes so that the ordered color can be manufactured by mixing the paints in stock, thereby improving work efficiency and reducing paint waste, which is expected to result in cost savings.
This Digital Color Platform was developed as part of the ‘Digital Transformation’ to enhance customer value. Last year, KCC unveiled ‘KCC Smart,’ the world’s first big data and AI-based system that completes color mixing to manufacturing within 5 minutes.
