Forbes "OpenAI Sam Altman, Billionaire... Assets $1 Billion"
Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI and known as the "father of ChatGPT," has joined the ranks of billionaires selected by the U.S. economic magazine Forbes.
On the 8th (local time), Forbes estimated Altman's net worth at $1 billion (1.35 trillion KRW), ranking 2692nd among the world's richest according to its own survey.
Most of Altman's wealth is understood to be based on investments in startups such as Reddit, which recently successfully went public on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), and the online payment company Stripe. Reddit's stock price surged after its IPO, and as of the previous trading day, Altman's stake is estimated to be worth about $600 billion.
He has also invested in fusion startup Helion and longevity startup Retro Biosciences. Before becoming CEO of OpenAI, Altman led Y Combinator, one of the world's top startup accelerators, and invested in numerous startups.

Additionally, Altman owns real estate in California, Hawaii, and other locations. Forbes explained that it estimated Altman's wealth through publicly available documents and its own investigation. Last week, famous American pop singer Taylor Swift officially joined the Forbes billionaire list with an estimated net worth of $1.1 billion.
