At the Central Election Committee meeting held at the Yeouido Central Party Office on the 1st, Chairman Ahn said, "I strongly urge the government once again to reconsider the medical school quota increase plan within the pan-social medical reform consultative body," adding, "It is also inevitable to dismiss the government officials responsible for causing the medical crisis." He further stated, "We must prevent a catastrophic outcome where only the people suffer due to a stalemate of confrontation."
Chairman Ahn had previously expressed on the 26th of last month that the plan to increase the medical school quota by 2,000 students should be reexamined.
He also emphasized the need to approach the public with humility amid the rising calls for regime judgment.
He said, "With only nine days left until the general election, the Lee Jae-myung Party, filled with criminal suspects and foul-mouthed individuals, seems poised to take over the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea," and added, "The Jo Guk Innovation Party, created by the very person who caused the downfall of the progressive government through the Cho Kuk incident, is making advances." He continued, "I recall the painful times when the government and ruling party faced an unbearable crisis whenever they showed even a hint of arrogance or tried to dominate the people," emphasizing, "Just yesterday, the President said in his Easter worship congratulatory message that he would enter deeply among the people with the government in a more humble posture and listen carefully even to the smallest voices of the people."
Chairman Ahn stated, "The greater the damage to the people caused by the medical collapse, the more the people will eventually blame the government and ruling party," and said, "It is not too late even now. The government and ruling party must comply with public sentiment." He also asserted, "Public sentiment is the will of heaven, and the people have always been right," urging, "Let us start again with humility at the people's level until the people say it is enough."

Won Hee-ryong, co-chairman of the People Power Party's Central Election Committee, also said at the meeting, "Dear citizens, our Yoon Seok-youl government has many shortcomings," adding, "Due to extreme conflicts globally and nationally, and the oversized opposition party seats, there are many things we cannot do as we wish, and we have much to humbly reflect on ourselves." He continued, "However, the parliamentary election held just two years into the term is not a presidential election to end the regime," appealing, "Please give us enough seats to work."
