Walking While Listening Is More Fun! Additional 5,000 Points for the 'Audio Challenge'
Asia Economy 'Hamanhacheon' Campaign Part 3
Applications Accepted on WalkOn App Until April 5
Points Given That Can Be Used Like Cash
The common trait of people walking for exercise on warm spring days is that they have earphones in. They listen to music, radio programs, or podcasts while walking.
“Walking while listening” naturally synchronizes the body to the rhythm of auditory stimuli, allowing for a more energetic walk, and adrenaline is released, enhancing the exercise effect.
Asia Economy’s “Harumanbo Harucheonja (Hamanhacheon) Audio Challenge” is an event that supports the effects of this “walking while listening.” Participants walk 150,000 steps over three weeks while listening to nine audio contents produced by Asia Economy. It is truly a two-birds-one-stone challenge where you can take care of your health by walking and gain fun and useful information by listening to audio content.
Simply participating can also earn you cash-like rewards. Download the “WalkOn” app on your mobile phone and apply to join the challenge. The participation fee is 10,000 won, but if you succeed in the mission, the full amount is refunded as 10,000 points (1 point = 1 won), and the first 1,000 successful participants receive an additional 5,000 points. This means 10,000 won grows into 15,000 won. Additionally, all successful participants are entered into a drawing to win a total of 2.5 million points. Points can be used as cash substitutes in the Hamanhacheon Mall within the WalkOn app. You can freely purchase snacks like coffee coupons, chicken, pizza, as well as daily necessities.
Listening to diverse content while walking makes time fly. In week 1, Professor Park Cheol shares “Walking and Health Knowledge,” in week 2, Asia Economy reporter Lee Hyunwoo presents “Figures Who Changed History Through Walking,” and in week 3, Asia Economy’s New York correspondent Kwon Haeyoung’s “People Met in New York” will be released. Each week features a total of three pieces of content.
Reporter Lee Hyunwoo’s “Figures Who Changed History Through Walking” content especially reveals stories not shown in the recent hit KBS2 historical drama “Goryeo-Khitan War,” about how King Hyeonjong changed Goryeo’s history through walking. Stories about General Yi Sun-sin, considered one of the greatest generals of the Joseon Dynasty along with General Kwon Yul, and about Mr. Lee Yong-ik, who rose from a peddler to prime minister of the Korean Empire, are also prepared.
