Child Running onto Crosswalk, Horn Blared to Warn
Driver Glares and Kicks... Repair Cost 1 Million Won
A man who kicked a car that honked to prevent an accident has been exposed, sparking public outrage. On the 22nd, JTBC’s ‘Sageon Banjang’ (Incident Chief) revealed footage of a man kicking a car that had helped prevent an accident.
In the black box footage shared by informant Mr. A, a man was crossing a crosswalk holding a child’s hand. Mr. A honked because a car in the adjacent lane behind was approaching without slowing down. He explained, "A car was rapidly approaching from behind in the second lane, so I honked to warn the driver."
The child running across the crosswalk was startled by the honk, and the man, presumed to be the child’s father, suddenly approached Mr. A’s car, kicked it, glared, and then left. Mr. A tried to explain, "It was because a car was coming beside you," thinking the man had misunderstood, but the man ignored him and walked away. Upon returning home and checking the car, Mr. A found the bumper damaged. After inspection at a repair center, he revealed that the bumper replacement cost reached 1 million won.
Mr. A said, “I fully understand that the man might have been startled or misunderstood, but seeing him kick the car while holding the child’s hand made me doubt whether he was really angry out of concern for the child.” Mr. A has reported the man to the police.
Netizens responded with comments such as "How despicable," "Showing violent behavior in front of a child," "Saved your life and this is how you repay," and "Repaying kindness with enmity."
Conflicts caused by honking continue to occur. Last month, the program aired a story where a driver was verbally abused after honking. Informant Mr. B, who was delivering side dishes to a store, honked because the car ahead was stopped despite the pedestrian signal being red. The woman who heard the honk moved her car to the second lane and shouted insults at Mr. B, including "Why are you honking?", "You’re ruining my mood this morning," and "You’re a f***ing a**hole."

In September last year, a story was shared about a driver who honked at an illegally parked car and was given a middle finger. Informant Mr. C told the YouTube channel ‘Han Moon-cheol TV’ that on his way to work, a driver blocked the road with their car and went to run an errand, so he honked to alert them but received a middle finger in response. The car owner reportedly did not apologize but instead argued that "continuous honking complaints can be reported as retaliatory driving," which sparked controversy.
