Five Women's Colleges Gather for Sports Exchange Tournament Opening... Spreading Praise Together
The "2nd Korea Women's University Sports Exchange" hosted by the Korea Women's University Presidents' Council opened on the 22nd.
The event held at the Seoul National University of Science and Technology's sports complex in Nowon-gu, Seoul, was attended by five women's universities located in Seoul: Sungshin Women's University, Dongduk Women's University, Seoul Women's University, Duksung Women's University, and Sookmyung Women's University.
The sports exchange event featured "soccer," with each of the five women's university student soccer teams participating as players. The matches were conducted in a league format, and the teams ranked first and second based on points competed for the championship trophy in the final match.
Before the games, President Seung Hyun-woo of Seoul Women's University, President Kim Myung-ae of Dongduk Women's University, President Lee Seong-geun of Sungshin Women's University, and President Jang Yoon-geum of Sookmyung Women's University personally visited the stadium to encourage the players.
Oh Hyun-ji, captain of the Dongduk Women's University soccer team who participated as a player in this sports exchange, said, "It is very meaningful to have a place where women's universities can hold exchange matches and cooperate," adding, "I hope all the participating university soccer teams, who have prepared diligently, achieve good results."
Seung Hyun-woo, chairman of the Korea Women's University Presidents' Council, said, "This event holds greater significance as a venue for women's universities to interact, empathize, cooperate, and unite, rather than just a simple sports competition to determine a winner," and added, "I look forward to seeing the players demonstrate their sportsmanship and will cheer them on."
